Novell released Xgl and compiz about a month ago. It’s painless to setup them in my AMD64 home pc with a Nvidia FX 5200 graphic card. I’m totally overwhelmed. Among it’s all eye candy features, my favorite is the scale feature. It’s a composite of Apple’s Expose and Microsoft coming Vista’s task switching.
But I never managed to use them in my working notebook with an ATI mobility X300 graphic card. After several nights of trial, I gave up. I think most people who were trying hard on their ATI card have some common feelings:
